Nylon rope is strong and durable and is commonly used within the marine sector. However, its breaking strength is reduced when wet and it becomes less flexible. Nylon also sinks in water. If you are looking for a rope that floats and is more resistant to water, then you might prefer polypropylene rope. It is commonly used for mooring.
